Shoe Baby by Polly DunbarMy daughter received this as a present when she was born, and at 20 months old it's just perfect for her. The sweet tale of a smily baby who hid in a shoe and went on a series of wonderful adventures. Whimsically illustrated and with a simple, soothing rhyme that's lovely to read out loud. The baby likes to ask everyone he meets 'How do you do?' and my daughter takes great delight in joining in with a 'do' of her own.

I'd recommend this for 18 months upward - my daughter has now started asking for Shoe Baby at bedtime and I suspect she'll be enjoying it for a while to come.
